Yes, it is no secret that people love stag weekends – and for many reasons! Let us count the ways…

1 – It is both exciting and exhilarating. If you are possibly coming out of (or perhaps part way through) quite a stress filled time or perhaps you simply need to get the hell outta the same hellish regime, it is the perfect strategy to put your mind away from things. While stag week-ends are usually packed with a huge amount of fun-filled activities and insane, outrageous nights out, it really is the simplest way of re-charging your own batteries. Be independent and free and also help the groom-to-be to feel the same way as well – in fact, it is possibly the last time in his life (no offense meant to future Mrs stag!)

2 – It is like a vacation, but it is really not. The majority of people will find it very hard to confess this, however prolonged getaways are just, oh-so-boring. There, we said it! Holidays usually last too long (three weeks? Are you crazy?) therefore you start feeling pretty bored towards the conclusion. It is not that you cannot wait to return to work, but it is a strange feeling of what precisely am I doing here? Stag trips, in contrast, only last for two or two and a half days. In addition, they are just open to your own men friends – that is it! It is similar to going back to the prehistoric era when men used to go away hunting for days. Here is the exact same ritual – although the search may be for cocktails and also lap dances!

3 – You can opt for any vacation destination you wish. Paris is generally for the romantics, Prague for the completely non-romantics and Milan is designed for individuals who like shopping. But in the case of stag vacations, there is absolutely no such thing as the suitable getaway. Any location throughout Europe will certainly do! UK as well as European towns all offer you great activities for stag-goers, thus you will be satisfied with absolutely any kind of location you select!

4 – ‘Peculiar’ and also ‘odd’ usually are the most utilised words to describe stag weekend activities. Besides the common clichés (see drinks as well as lap dances above), stag breaks are the perfect occasion to try different things. You already know it is actually not going to last for long (two days, as we said), so you must truly make the most from it!

5 – A big wedding is to follow. Well, what can we say? All things considered, it is exactly why stag week-ends exist in the first place! Stag weekends imply upcoming wedding, and that is thrilling. Although stag’s life seems fascinating and thrilling, constantly keep in mind that someone will shortly get married and, even with such high divorce rates these days, that is one of the best things on earth.

The game of Cricket is played between two competing teams of eleven players on each side, on a large ground called a pitch. The teams comprise of players with a mixture of abilities, some specialising at batting, some at bowling, and with one who acts as ‘wicket-keeper’.

In the centre of the pitch (usually 22 yards long), called ‘the wicket’. At each end of the wicket are placed three sticks (stumps) adjacent to each other in an upright position. They are separated by a gap not greater than the diameter of a cricket ball. On top of each set of stumps are placed two smaller sticks (’bails’). A chalk outline is drawn in front of each set of stumps called a ‘crease’. The game is refereed by two ‘umpires’

Starting the game, one side will ‘bat’ first, while the other side will bowl to them. The object for the batting side is to score the optimal number of ‘runs’ (points) before the bowling side have dismissed them. The object for the bowling side is to dismiss the batsmen as economically as possible. Once the process is complete the roles are reversed.

Runs can be scored each time that the batting pair is able to run between the wickets after a ball has been bowled (and before the stumps are or potentially can be touched with the ball) a run is scored. If the ball travels outside of the playing area, and it has touched the ground prior to leaving the playing area.

Additionally, runs can be accrued through failure of the bowler to correctly deliver the ball; either through an incorrect bowling action, when this is deemed a ‘no-ball’, or through the ball being delivered too wide for the batsman to strike it, known as a ‘wide’.

Dismissal of the batsmen can occur in a number of ways. The batsman facing the bowler can be ‘bowled’ out. If the batsman strikes the ball with the bat and it is caught by the bowler or one of the bowler’s side who are dotted around the ground to field the ball before it hits the ground, then he is deemed to be out. A batsman can also be stumped by wicket-keeper, who stands immediately behind the batsman to retrieve balls coming through from the bowler. If the batsman steps in front of the crease leaving no part of his anatomy or the bat behind, and the wicket-keeper is able to remove the bails from the wicket with the ball. A batsman can also be out ‘leg before wicket’ or ‘lbw.

Skiing, Snowboarding, Dog Sledding & Snow mobiling

Skiing has seen its beginnings at the end of the 19th century. Both competitive and recreational skiing are very popular and there are many variations to the sport and the main are listed below:-

Alpine or downhill skiing
This skiing you will find at most resorts. There will be schools and nursery slopes where you can learn the techniques to control the speed and direction of your descent. Ski lifts take you up the mountain to the marked slopes which are all graded.

Backcountry skiing
This is inhabited to rural regions on unmarked slopes. As there are no skilifts it usually requires a hike beforehand and a snow camp may be necessary. It is important to have knowledge of the area and be aware that there is always the danger of an avalanche.

Ski Touring
It is basically trekking from one place to another, rather like hiking but on snow. The skiers heels are free to allow a natural walking motion. ski gloves and Ski crampons can be used on steep icy slopes. There are various forms of ski touring, ie. Nordic, Traditional Nordic, Backcountry Nordic, Telemark, Alpine Touring – each form have their own specialised equipment.

Cross Country Skiing
Skiing on snow covered roads, tracks and other low-angle terrain trails is referred to as Cross country Skiing.

Extreme Skiing
Skiing on long steep slopes in dangerous terrains.

Heliskiing
Heliskiing involves using a helicopter to carry the skier up the mountain so that they can ski down through the deep untracked powder. It involves some steep and extreme terrain along with crisscrossing through trees which can be very strenuous. The skier must be fit before attempting heliskiing and able to ski on the advanced runs. Normally skiers are lead by a guide who is able to give good advice.

Snowboarding:

Snowboarding developed and became an olympic sport in the year 1998. This has similarities to skiing, but influenced by skateboarding and surfing. The difference between skateboarding and snowboarding is that rider’s feet are attached to the snowboard with bindings

Snow mobiling

They are powerful machines, able to go from 0-60 miles per hour in just 4 seconds. The snowmobile is propelled over the snow and ice by one rubber track and are idea for travel in the artcic regions. Many companies use them for exciting winter tours and vacations. Although enormous fun, this sport can be dangerous,

Dog sledding

is a popular winter activity and a competitive sport that began time long ago probably in eastern Siberia. It was then means of transport for nomadic winter tribes.

This article discusses and exhibits some common faults of the golf swing. Do not make the mistake of assuming that this

is a kind of instructions given on the game of golf, because it isn’t.

Beginners when trying to hit a golf ball for the first time, tend to lift the club up high with the arms and then pull steeply back down with the arms. The exact result of this type of swinging motion is a slice.

A block is caused by a series of improper movements that make it impossible to “release” the club correctly. The block and subsequent manipulations are not the ideal way to swing, however, it is possible to become fairly proficient at squaring the clubface at impact through the use of various manipulations.

Manipulations are movements that attempt to counteract the block. They can occur at address—a strong grip (anything stronger than neutral); during the backswing—a closed clubface; or during the forward swing—casting and

coming over-the-top, flipping, titleist pro v1 golf balls (throwing the clubhead into the ball with the hands), and rolling the arms over.

A release is the opposite of the block and subsequent manipulations (you either block or release, you can’t have a combination of the two)—there is no tendency to drag the club through impact and therefore the clubface will not be significantly open.

Your body must move so it can synchronize with the arms and club, while at the same time create speed and maintain control. It’s simple, the body winds and unwinds (also referred to as coil and uncoil). For the body to move this way, the arms must swing more around the body.

The upright swing plane can have serious consequences to one’s ability to improve their golf game.

Archery is the use of a bow to shoot arrows. According to researchers archery has a long history dating back as far as 15,000 years. In the past, people used archery for hunting and warfare, but today this has become a popular sport.

During middle ages, archery became the lowliest form of warfare. Due to the cheapness of making a bow and arrow, Archers were usually the lowest paid soldiers and most of them belonged to the peasant class. The higher classes viewed the bow and arrow as being insufficient, or to use only for entertainment.

However, the Vikings used archery as their main weapon which gained them large success. By the time of the 100 years war, the English had learned how to use archers to their advantage, rather than using swords men, who could not fight from a distance.

By this time archers were recruited and trained as children until and throughout their adulthood. Every boy that was recruited was given a bow that was as high as he was, and expected to learn on it. During battle, archers were to shoot two arrows, one from a higher route and one from a lower route, in order to hit the enemy at two different angles, which made it difficult for the enemy to defend themselves.

Later on, the cross bow became popular and was used in battles. Cross bow had the same distance and power as a bow and arrow. The only drawback to using crossbows was that they took a long time to load and reload.

Once firearms were invented, the arrow became less and less popular until it became obsolete. Today, the use of a bow and arrow is no longer used for hunting or warfare, but is commonly used as sport.

Some of these centres focus more on romance like candlelit dinners, private villas next to a beach, etc. Some centres will recognize you as a couple, so you may get certain romantic perks, but the whole idea will be to advance your riding skills.

Family holidays

While you are on family holiday, ask whether your whole family wants to spend the entire vacation riding horses. If you have children that would rather ride the horses a bit, then partake in other centre activities; such as a laser blast area, laser clays, bungee trampolines, or climbing walls.

You may also explore the rugged coastline, ride through the striking countryside, or trot along the beach at sunset, all that will make your family horse riding holiday a great experience.

Polo is a team sport played on horseback in which the objective is to score goals against an opposing team. There are usually four players per team, or three for arena polo, and two teams play against each other.

Like many other equestrian sports Polo is seen as a noble and worthy sport which has a long and illustrious history. In the UK it is considered to be the favoured sport of the Royal family. Prince Charles and his sons Prince William and Harry have all been pictured playing polo many times. In other countries too, Polo is played by royals and the aristocracy.

There are two main types of polo – indoor or arena polo and outdoor polo. The outdoor version tends to be more expensive, the indoor version is cheaper, but is much more popular in the USA than elsewhere

Players are all mounted on Polo ponies as many people say that ponies account for much of the talent and skill in the game rather than fully grown horses. Like many other team sports, points are scored by getting a goal, however, in polo, this occurs while the player is on horseback.

Time & Format:

Polo matches are divided into periods which are called chukkas. Each chukka usually lasts seven minutes. Games can have either four, six or eight chukkas although six is the most common number. There are four minutes between chukkas.

Based on their past performance, polo players have handicaps and the handicap of a team is worked out by adding together all of the players’ handicap. The team with the larger handicap sometimes will get free points to compensate for this.

The object of the game:

The object is simply to score goals to win. A goal is scored by hitting the ball with the mallet. However, the ball can cross the line in numerous ways, including if it’s knocked through by the pony.

Polo can be a contact sport although this is limited – players can only push each other at a 45 degree angle. There are also a number of fouls, although, as a general rule, polo is a gentle sport. Unlike for other games, there are judges and referees to intervene with the rules of the game and penalties are awarded in case of breach.

Is Horse Riding Safe for children?

Every parent or guardian know that horse riding is a sport which involves an animal that can be unpredictable and volatile at times, not to mention the fact that the child himself could fall from a great height or at great speed. Parents may find themselves asking is horse riding safe for my child? Though horse riding can be risky, children can derive lot of pleasure and benefits from the sport.

Safety Equipment:

First of all your child should have right safety equipment. A riding hat is the most important thing. It is better to buy brand new and have it fitted properly. Some riding schools will also lend hats out, but then you should be sure about the safety of these equipments.

If a child starts learning to ride very early it can be a huge benefit for him. It becomes more natural to him to ride well and the chances of having silly accidents are lower. The child will be more in tune with the horse and what it plans to do. The child will also learn how to avert accidents and collisions and if he does fall, he will be far more likely to get straight back on the animal.

All sports have their own risks, but accidents on horses are actually few and far between. If your child has all the right safety equipments, even if he does fall from the horse, he should be well protected.

Remember, the child will certainly not be nervous as the parent. So, when you do take your child horse riding for the first time, you must not let your nervousness be passed on to your child. Because if he realize you are scared he may become nervous himself, which could result in more accidents and injuries.
